At the same power, V-ribbed belts can effectively reduce the size of the transmission components, occupying about 25% less space than conventional V-belts. V-ribbed belts have a larger contact area with the pulleys, even load distribution, and higher transmission capacity, and can transmit about 30% more power than ordinary V-belts.


V-ribbed belts are advanced, but it does not mean that they will not fail. Usually, the failure of a V-ribbed belt is caused by negligent maintenance, such as too little or too much tensioning force, which can cause belt damage.
